In our first installment of the most anticipated luxury property openings around the world, here is a curated list of new openings in Europe for 2024.
Brown Glow – Scheduled to open Q2 of 2024
In the historic center of Athens on Lycourgous street, Brown Glow will consist of 219 rooms and offer guests state-of-the-art facilities such as a restaurant, lobby lounge, a rooftop bar which will overlook the rooftop swimming pool and sun terrace, a spa and a gym. The hotel will present a more contemporary and modern aesthetic in the original 1960s building whilst also embracing the vintage and laid-back approach Brown Hotels are known for. Through ingenious use of light, reflective, perforated surfaces and transparent materials, the sense of illusion and glow can be seen throughout the property from its rooms to its exterior street view luminescence.

AlmaLusa Alfama – Scheduled to open March 2024
Nestled in the heart of the picturesque, old town Alfama neighborhood, AlmaLusa Alfama is steps away from Praça do Comércio Square and the magnificent Lisbon Cathedral. A tribute to the rich history and vibrant culture of Lisbon, the hotel presents 25 thoughtfully designed rooms and suites that exude warmth and tranquility. Housed within a meticulously restored 12th-century building, the boutique hotel merges the old and the new. Guests can eat at Delfina Café for delectable petiscos (Portuguese tapas) to the finest local wines and surprising cocktails and be connected to the knowledgeable concierge team via a complimentary 4G smartphone

Treehouse Manchester – Scheduled to open April 2024
Located in the city center, close to Harvey Nichols, the hotel will bring contemporary design to guests and the local community alike. Along with its 224 rooms and suites, the property will include an expansive screening room, gym and three unique F&B spaces (including a rooftop venue) and multiple event spaces. The hotel will make extensive use of reclaimed and recycled materials as well as promote biophilia through the introduction of roof gardens, living green walls and a kitchen garden harvesting rainwater, with honey produced by the hotel’s own rooftop apiary.

Santo Mine Oia Suites – Scheduled to open April 2024
Carved into the cliffs of Oia on the site of an old stone mine above the enchanting Ammoudi Bay, Santo Mine is a new adults-only all-suite luxury hideaway in Santorini. With direct views over the Aegean Sea, there will be a selection of 37 individual suites, which come with a private pool or jacuzzi. The design of the interiors in both the suites and communal spaces take inspiration from Santorini’s rugged landscape, calming earth tones, Mediterranean aesthetics, and Cycladic minimalism. On-site there will also be a new restaurant and all-day bar, wine cellar serving local and international wines, spa and outdoor gym.

One&Only Kéa Island – Scheduled to open Q2 2024
The all-villa, cliffside escape on the west side of Kéa island in the Cyclades is set in a secluded 65-hectare site, just 30 minutes from Athens by speedboat. Inspired by authentic and pure Mediterranean living, the resort will offer 73 villas (each with their own private swimming pool, terrace, courtyard and fireplace) including the luxurious Two Bedroom Cliff Villa with Panoramic Sea Views as well as a collection of 40 One&Only Private Homes available for purchase. The self-sustainable island is a summer hideaway known for its low-key beauty and laidback authenticity and the resort will offer a wealth of experiences from its Beach Club to serene destination spa, plethora of atmospheric culinary offerings, KidsOnly club, and curated selection of sea and land adventures.

Viceroy at Ombria Algarve – Scheduled to open Spring 2024
In Portugal’s Algarve region, Viceroy at Ombria Algarve is a harmonious blend of modern luxury and the tranquil essence. The upcoming newest addition to Viceroy Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio will offer 76 spacious rooms and 65 residences, each designed with a contemporary design with rustic charm. From their on-site spa, five stunning pools and eight exceptional on-site restaurants, guests will marvel at the region’s natural beauty and bounty and be able to book experiences such as wine tastings, agricultural workshops and cultural tours outside the hotel.

Maxx Royal Bodrum – Scheduled to open late Spring 2024
Maxx Royal Bodrum is located on a private peninsula in Göltürkbükü, Turkey and will mark the brand’s third property opening in Turkey. The 11-hectare resort will blend the natural surroundings seamlessly with its design and will feature local artisan-crafted ceramics and artworks throughout, as well as a Refik Anadol-designed installation in the lobby. The 294 rooms and suites will use a serene and natural color palette throughout, incorporating interesting architectural details and patterns across the property. Property highlights will include a Maxx Wellbeing Spa and outposts of two iconic international restaurants Caviar Kaspia and Beefbar.

The Emory – Scheduled to open Spring 2024
Maybourne has a new addition to the group with the opening of The Emory, its fourth hotel in the capital. With its understated and private entrance on Old Barrack Yard, the hotel will present a new standard of contemporary design and discreet luxury. The all-suite hotel will boast 60 light-filled suites set over nine floors, with a spectacular penthouse designed by Rigby & Rigby. Located in Knightsbridge, its striking ‘sails’ structure will soar above the treetops of Hyde Park, whilst its rooftop will provide an unparalleled 360 degree view of the capital. Beneath ground will be an innovative wellness space set across four floors. The hotel will also introduce Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s highly acclaimed ABC concept with fresh, local and conscious cuisine to London. Each floor will showcase the aesthetic of a different world class interior designer including Champalimaud Design, André Fu, Pierre-Yves Rochon, Rémi Tessier and Patricia Urquiola.

AREV Saint Tropez – Scheduled to open Spring 2024
In the beautiful French Riviera, AREV Collection has announced the upcoming opening of its first independent property with the debut of AREV Saint Tropez. Just five-minutes from the heart of Saint Tropez village, the hotel is located off the Chemin des Vendage and will provide a tree-lined entrance to the hotel grounds and gardens. Each of the 43 guest rooms and suites are individually designed (with a palate of yellow, red and deep blue tones) to capture the spontaneity and mystique of Saint-Tropez. Long a staple of Saint Tropez, the hotel will revive the legendary Strand Restaurant and Champagne Lounge and present AREV Spa along with a paddle court and fitness center. At the heart of the property, encircled by flowering fragrant trees, plush sun loungers and glamorous cabanas, the sparkling AREV pool is the ideal place to soak up sun before heading into the village for an afternoon adventure.

Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection – Scheduled to open mid-2024
Encompassing three adjacent 16th-century buildings, Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection takes inspiration from the artistry and perfection of Renaissance greats. The extensive transformation from buildings including an original chapel and theater will present 82 rooms, including 20 suites and a 2,250-square-foot signature suite. The property’s storied and romantic history will awaken thanks to its rarefied art collection, distinct architecture and design, and spectacular gardens, including five levels of terraced Baroque gardens. Alongside their on-site enoteca offering tastings of the finest wines in Italy and four dining options, modern amenities include an outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, art gallery and a curated boutique.

Brach Madrid – Scheduled to open September 2024
Following the success of its original Paris property, Evok will launch Brach Madrid, its first hotel in Spain and second location. Situated on Gran Via – a bustling area of central Madrid filled with trendy shops, buzzy restaurants and bars – the property will be designed by the iconic French designer Philipe Starck. Delivering a one-of-a-kind, luxury experience with a creative twist for guests and travelers alike, the 56 room hotel boasts a sports club, swimming pools, pâtisserie, kitchen garden, terraces and bar.

Brown Spices – Scheduled to open Q1 2024
The upcoming 63-room boutique hotel is situated in the Athenian neighborhood of Psyrri, just three minutes away from the city-center. Bringing Brown’s signature quirky design elements and state-of-the-art amenities to the bustling area, the hotel will feature a one-of-a-kind transparent pool (and bar) on the rooftop, three restaurants, a fully equipped gym and an in-house spa complete with a Swedish Sauna and hamman. Taking its name from the nearby spice market and being situated in two repurposed Interwar period buildings with a preserved 1930’s architectural facade, the hotel will blend organic, grunge with urban elegance.

Six Senses London – Scheduled to open 2024
In the Bayswater neighborhood of West London, Six Senses London will offer 110 guest rooms and 14 branded residences all featuring bespoke interior design. Along with its lobby bar, an all-day dining restaurant with an open kitchen and a seating area in the courtyard, the hotel will also be home to Six Senses’ first social and wellness clubs, Six Senses Place. The new Six Senses membership concept that fosters reconnection, wellbeing and growth and makes use of the Six Senses Spa which is reminiscent of an old-fashioned London underground station.

Hotel Gabrielli – Scheduled to open end of 2024
Located in a Venetian Palazzo dating from the 14th century, Hotel Gabrielli is a historical hotel dating back to 1856, owned and managed by the Perkhofer family since its opening. Featuring 103 rooms (with 68 new rooms, including 19 elegant suites) the hotel overlooks the island of San Giorgio and is only a few minutes walk from Saint Mark’s square, close to The Doge’s Palace, the Arsenale and the Biennale Exhibition Area. Furnished in true Venetian style, some of the properties features include handmade murano chandeliers, four-light windows on the main façade, the ‘vetrate a rullo’, the ornate coffered ceilings as well as the columns and wells being made of Istrian stone.
