Barrett-Jackson, creator of “the world’s greatest collector car auctions,” zoomed back into Palm Beach, Florida this weekend for the record breaking 2024 Palm Beach Auction held at the South Florida Fairgrounds.
With new car introductions, including the long-awaited, first-ever Ford Mustang GTD, Barrett-Jackson Experiences, Dodge thrill rides, Ford hot laps in a 2024 Mustang Dark Horse Premium, and a Volvo Driving experience, the three-day supercar auction also saw numerous record-breaking sales.
This year, 614 vehicles were sold at auction, all with No Reserve, for a total of $45.7 million. “From Aston Martin to Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche, we take pride in building dockets that feature a diverse selection that appeals to every type of enthusiast,” Barrett-Jackson’s President Steve Davis said in a statement. “We built this year’s Palm Beach Auction with a spectacular collection of vehicles. “Our bidders responded overwhelmingly with numerous six-figure sales on both Friday and Saturday.”
A deactivated but operational 1976 Leopard 1A5 Battle Tank sold for $270,000, while a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Convertible reeled in a whopping $305,000. The 1969 Dodge Charger featured in the movie “Joe Dirt” sold for $330,000.

For the ultimate indulgence, attendees could sign up in advance for access to Craig Jackson’s Skybox. The uber luxurious experience allows bidders to view the auction from the Owner’s Private Skybox. Guests here enjoyed the same amenities featured in the Luxury Lounge package along with exclusive VIP early admission to the Barrett-Jackson Opening Night Party.
“Palm Beach has been a second home to Barrett-Jackson for more than 20 years dating back to our inaugural event there in 2003,” Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson, said in a statement. “Our auctions have evolved over the years into the true automotive lifestyle celebrations you see today.”
For an exhilarating hands-on experience, attendees were also able to check out Ford’s newly unveiled Mustang 60thanniversary package cars and the 800-horsepower, street-legal Mustang GTD. The limited-edition model’s pricing starts at $300,000.
Media were given the opportunity to get in the front seat of the powerful 500-horsepower Mustang Dark Horse followed by a ride-along with a professional Ford Performance driver for the ultimate thrill.
While you’ll have to wait until next year for its return to Palm Beach, Barrett-Jackson will be hosting a fall event in Scottsdale, Arizona October 10-13. Be sure to book one of their Luxury Experiences in advance. You’ll be glad you did.
